Grouse Grind with Mom and Dad

At the top of Grouse
I have to give it up to mom and dad.
They proved me wrong.
I underestimated them.
Who wouldl've known two old parents would be able to hike the Grind. I was seriously concerned about them, but they were so adamant in wanting to give this a try. My dad said, "If not now, then I'll never get to do it."
Those are pretty powerful words. More now so than when he said it. When my dad said it, I quickly quipped...mostly to myself, "C'mon dad, you don't want to have other people carry you down the mountain, do you?"
But "seizing the day" is certainly something to consider. I wonder what I've failed to seize in this past while?
Anyway, Auntie Grace and Jo went and did the Grind together with us. At around the quarter mark, Jo and her mom jetted ahead. Mom, Dad & I took 2 1/2 hours to reach the top. Jo and her mom waited just under an hour for us.
It was fun. We even watched a free Lumberjack Show at the top...didn't even expect it. I suppose, just like my parents reaching the top.
